Cinematographer / Photographer

My name is Veli Kaya, and I am currently making my way into the professional media industry by studying at North West Regional College in the Creative Media Production HNC/HND Course. I’ve always been draw towards Films and the Cinematography techniques used within them and how they can create a range of emotions and immersive atmosphere for the viewer to witness and when the opportunity came for me to first learn how to begin this passion I jumped towards it.

So far, I’ve been experimenting with my camera work and photography with every chance I get with a camera during this course to develop this skill further. Aswell as that I’ve developed my editing skill and even my creative process on expanding on film plots that I do in my spare time which will lead me to create a short film and a documentary by the end of this course. With my past experience I was already able to create a short film on my own but now in NWRC I’ve been able to focus on them and work on this skill even more.

I’ve also begun recently discovering what else I could create within a lens of camera with inspirations and work of photographers I follow leading me to experiment with every aspect of the camera. I showcase my results of these experimentation on social media platforms such as Instagram and YouTube either if they are my result or my learning process. This has caused me to enter in photographer competitions as well to show my work as I expanded on my techniques.

With both me developing my skills in filming and photography I plan to merge them together, combining what techniques and experience I learned from both to achieve a goal of mine which is to create shots in film that are aesthetically pleasing to watch leaving viewers in awe and stunning high-quality photos that I would only dream of achieving.
